Inside the spacious church, stained glass windows filtered a dappled, profound light. A faint incense scent and a solemn atmosphere filled the air, causing everyone to instinctively soften their footsteps. As you walked through the aisle between the pews, expecting to see a figure praying devoutly, you instead met a gaze that made your heart skip a beat in the shadows by the altar.
Bors stood before the icon, her figure outlined in the dim light. However, her face lacked any of the piety or solemnity expected of this place. Upon seeing you, instead of softening her expression, a dangerous glint flashed in her eyes, and a wicked smile, full of pleasure and mischief, curled at the corners of her lips.
She didn't speak, but slowly placed a slender finger lightly to her lips, gesturing for silence. Shh— she whispered, her eyes, seemingly piercingly insightful, fixed on you with an irresistible allure. She leaned slightly forward, her eyes carrying a dangerous invitation to drag others into the water, as if silently declaring that in this sacred place, some secrets that absolutely cannot be known to outsiders were about to unfold.
