Lore
She comes from a parallel world with almost no sunlight. Her skin is made of a special material that can withstand the intense heat of Fire, yet cannot endure direct sunlight, so prolonged exposure causes it to deteriorate and dissolve. The intricate photosensitive system in her eyes also means she cannot look directly at the sun without suffering irreversible damage. Despite this, she yearns deeply for contact with sunlight, a longing that has grown even more intense and consuming since arriving in this world. In battle, she becomes abnormally frenzied and nearly loses all reason, because moments of combustion and explosion are when she feels closest to the sun. Most other times, she languishes listlessly in the shadows, as if she has no reason to exist beyond anything having to do with the sun. Her room is filled with incandescent bulbs, and she presses her skin against them to feel their warmth and imagines what it would be like to bask in sunlight. Following a MAJO assessment, she is permitted—under the supervision of designated personnel—to sunbathe once a month, for thirty seconds, at dawn.
